Monthly Member Challenge!
April's Challenge!
This month I am going to ask you to do something that might be out of your comfort zone. However, what you will learn with this challenge is going to help you build a better relationship with your body, with your food, and to measure your health on things other than the number on the scale!
TAKE A BREAK FROM THE SCALE!!!!
That's right, I want you to not step on the scale for the entire month of April. 30 days of not weighing yourself, 30 days of not letting that number affect you. Taking a break from the scale is going to give you some time to listen to your own body and your own instincts.
If you are trying to lose weight? That is awesome! Are you trying to build lean muscle? Fantastic! Are you just wanting to live a healthier life? Even better! You can still achieve these goals without stepping on the scale!
What should you do during this time away from the scale? Focus on:
- Making better decisions in the kitchen: Reaching your protein goals, eating enough fruits and veggies, and drinking enough water every single day!
- Listen to your body: Eat slower, feel your fullness, and your hunger levels. Pay closer attention to how your body responds to food.
- Exercise: Get up and move every hour. Get 10k steps in each and every day. Workout for 45 minutes 5-6 times per week
- Pay attention to how your body is reacting: How are your energy levels? How is your sleep? How is your stress level?
On March 31st hide your scale from yourself, remove the batteries, disconnect it from your tracking device, or toss it out altogether! By focusing on the items above you will continue to make progress towards your goals, and you will be able to focus more on how you feel vs what the scale is telling you to feel!
On May 1st, feel free to weigh yourself...if you must. But if you are feeling good about your progress, I challenge you to continue taking time away from your scale. The scale is a very small measure of your health and your progress. The goal of this months challenge is to focus on how you feel and to not let the scale tell you how you should be feeling.
Trust in the process, trust in yourself, and refer back to everything I have been teaching you about properly fueling your body. I can guarantee you will see results, and you will feel even better about yourself, your body, and your goals!
